Summer Roadtrips Unveiled
Looking for exciting weekend getaways this Summer?! Living in Temecula Valley (aka Paradise), there’s no need to venture too far to find an exciting getaway. If you are in the mood to explore and escape, why not drive out to San Diego Gaslamp Quarter? It’s the historic heart of downtown San Diego featuring eight square blocks of shopping, sidewalk bars and restaurants, boutiques, small specialty shops and larger chain stores. At sunset, the streets come alive as the old-fashioned gas lamps begin to glow and the 70 plus sidewalk cafes come to life.
The Gaslamp Quarter doesn’t have towering skyscrapers, but instead has high rise buildings whose architecture is sophisticated and reflects a period of Victorian-style development in the city.
If shopping is your favorite pastime, you will be very happy to find many boutiques within the Gaslamp district and close by at the adjacent Horton Plaza.
While you’re in the vicinity of San Diego, be sure to visit the USS Midway Museum and Balboa Park, home of the world famous San Diego Zoo. What a well rounded mini-vacation and you didn’t even have to pay for airline tickets!
