It’s time to get ready for the 4th of July. We have what you need to spend the day with your friends and family having fun!

Why should you Celebrate 4th of July? It commemorates the birth of America when our forefathers declared independence from Great Britain in 1776. Not to mention there are plenty of festivities around Southern California to show your recognition of the historical event.

Plan ahead: It’s the remedy for a perfect weekend! The 4th of July can be a busy day. Crowds galore, delicious food everywhere you look, families spending time together, plenty of games to play, parades in many cities, and the list goes on. You don’t want to wake up the day-of not knowing what to do and not have a plan of action. Summer holidays often require careful planning and some degree of preparation if you are hosting a shin-dig. Ask yourself who, what, where, and work from there. Who is obviously the most important! Who do you want to spend your day celebrating with? Once you have that list handled, answer the what. Do you want to celebrate out and about or by staying close to your own party? There are tons of options living in Southern California, almost too many to choose from!

Celebrate with Family: One of our favorite places to go on 4th of July is SeaWorld in San Diego. Since it is right on the water, the theme park provides fantastic views of the fireworks display later in the evening. Other festivities provide a day filled with fun for the whole family. A great alternative is Harbor Island, where you can see a large display of fireworks. Here, the fireworks start at 9:00 pm, so be sure to arrive a little early to grab your spot. Whichever you attend, we are sure you will not be disappointed.

Friends: A fun place to spend the 4th of July with your friends is Coronado Island. There will be a parade on Orange Avenue at 10:00 am. You will also be able to see the Big Bay Boom July 4th fireworks show later in the evening, which is also known as the largest display of fireworks in the county. The fireworks don’t start till 9:00 pm, so be sure to arrive early if you want to get a good table at any of the restaurants overseeing the fireworks. If you don’t want to go to a restaurant, you can go to Coronado Landing, but again, arrive early because this is definitely a local favorite.

Romantic: There is something special about spending 4th of July in Old Town San Diego. There will be a parade, crafts, and activities to recreate an old fashioned 4th of July. This will be going on from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. Unfortunately there will be no fireworks, but the good news is you can venture to North San Diego Bay and enjoy Big Bay Boom July 4th fireworks show.
Mercedes-Benz of Temecula would like to wish everyone a safe and happy 4th of July!
