Mercedes-Benz of Temecula: 2024 GLB SUV Overview

Trim Levels and Exterior
You can choose the GLB 250, the GLB 250 4MATIC, or the AMG GLB 35. The 2024 GLB SUV has a sleek style, a long wheelbase, roof rails, and a bold, oval grille with the Mercedes-Benz symbol in the center and a slotted, silver chrome crossbar behind it. It can carry up to seven people, and standard features include:
- Aluminum roof rails.
- A dual exhaust.
- Front and rear skid plates.
- Sculpted sides and hood.
- LED headlights and taillights.
- LED daytime running lights.
- Heated side mirrors.
- 18-inch wheels.
- All-season tires.
- A power liftgate.
- Rain-sensing windshield wipers.
- A rear window wiper.
You can add 19- or 20-inch wheels, a tilting and sliding panoramic sunroof with a power shade, fog lights, and a hands-free power liftgate. The AMG Line package has a chrome diamond-block grille with hexagonal "pins." With the AMG Line Night Package, it's surrounded by black trim.
Power-folding, auto-dimming side mirrors, and an illuminated entry system that can light the way to your vehicle at night are available. You can select Night Black, Polar White, Cosmos Black Metallic, Digital White Metallic, Iridium Silver Metallic, Denim Blue Metallic, Rose Gold Metallic, Mountain Grey Metallic, Galaxy Blue Metallic, Spectral Blue Metallic, or MANUFAKTUR Patagonia Red Metallic exterior colors.
Performance and Power
The 2024 GLB has a new mild hybrid system that provides 13 hp of additional power for agile starting and faster acceleration when needed. The starter generator also makes starting smooth and quiet. It lets you coast with the gas engine turned off for better efficiency. During acceleration and braking, it recuperates energy and sends it to the 12-volt on-board network and the 48-volt battery. The independent suspension provides a smooth ride.
The GLB 250 and the GLB 250 4MATIC have a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine that generates 221 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. The GLB 250 has front-wheel drive, and the GLB 250 4MATIC uses all-wheel drive. Individual, Sport, Eco, and Comfort driving modes are available.
The AMG GLB 35 uses AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive and ESP Dynamic Cornering Assist for excellent maneuverability even on challenging terrain. Its turbocharged, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder motor gives 302 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. It can reach 60 mph in 5.2 seconds. With the AMG GLB 35, you can pick Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus, or Individual driving modes. With Individual mode, manual shifting is available.
All three trim levels use an eight-speed automatic transmission and require premium gasoline. The ECO Start/Stop system shuts off the engine when you pause in traffic to save fuel. It keeps electronics such as the radio on to keep you and your passengers comfortable. You can turn this feature off if you don't want to use it.
Interior and Technology
The 2024 GLB has 62 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded. That's lots of room for a compact SUV. Circular air vents and LED and chrome accents give the interior a refined, high-tech look.
The 2024 GLB comes with a 10.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 10.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and controls on the steering wheel. The voice recognition system activates whenever you say, "Hey Mercedes." The voice assistant can also use artificial intelligence to learn your preferences over time and make suggestions. Drivers can accept the suggestions or decline them temporarily or permanently. A Nappa leather-wrapped steering wheel, Apple CarPlay, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and Android Auto are standard. You'll also get:
- Power front seats with memory settings.
- Dual-zone automatic climate control.
- Remote start.
- Push-button start.
- An outdoor temperature display.
The USB ports have more charging power than the 2023 model, and they're illuminated to make them easier to find at night. The most recent version of the MBUX operating system has three display modes: Classic, Discreet, and Sporty. Navigation, Services, and Assistance modes are available as well.
You can add a 12-speaker Burmester audio system with a 590-watt amplifier, shift paddles for the steering wheel, a sport steering wheel with a flat bottom, navigation, and a heated steering wheel. Sport front seats and 64-color ambient lighting with illuminated vents are optional. Heated and ventilated front seats, a universal garage door opener, and a 115-volt power outlet are available. You can also choose Black Linden or Brown Walnut wood trim.
The 2024 GLB comes with a variety of safety and driver-assistance features, including:
- Automatic emergency braking.
- A rearview camera.
- Blind-spot monitoring.
- Lane-keeping assist.
- Lane departure warning.
- Pedestrian detection.
- An ATTENTION ASSIST system that monitors driving behavior and turns on audio and visual warnings if it detects potential drowsiness.
- An SOS button to call for help in an emergency.
- Electronic stability control.
- Electronic traction control.
- An anti-theft system with a panic button.
After an accident, the GLB will call Mercedes-Benz Emergency Services and transmit any information about your vehicle that might be helpful, including your GPS location. You can select a 360-degree camera system, adaptive cruise control, evasive steering assistance to help you avoid obstacles, cross-traffic alert, and PARKTRONIC Active Parking Assistance. Optional speed limit assistance displays the speed limit on the dashboard. Downhill speed regulation and route-based speed adaptation are available as well. Speed adaptation slows the vehicle down automatically before curves, traffic circles, toll booths, and highway interchanges.
